Street Construction Projects in Shoreview

This section is designed for street construction over which Shoreview has jurisdiction. This may include seal coating, sweeping and more. However, please remember that not all roads in Shoreview are maintained by the City. In addition, some projects are conducted by Ramsey County, MnDOT, and outside vendors such as Xcel Energy and Centerpoint Energy.

County Road D

This project is a joint effort with the City of Roseville. The purpose of this project is to update and install new utilities, install a sidewalk on the south side and repave the driving surface. All residents will be notified if there is going to be major changes to traffic flow or detours.

Work is set to begin after the end of the school year to ensure traffic is at its lowest volumes and to prevent any disruption with public school programs. Estimated start date is set for the first week of July.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact Glen Hoffard at 651-490-4659 or at ghoffard@shoreviewmn.gov.

Cottage Place

The reconstruction of Cottage Place is well underway. The water utility replacement has been completed. Crews have started the installation of the storm sewer system. Shortly after the storm sewer is completed the road will be graded and curb will be installed.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact Mike Shaughnessy at 651-490-4656 or at mshaughnessy@shoreviewmn.gov.

Red Fox Road

Crews are currently working to enlarge the storm pond to make room for the additional runoff from the Red Fox Road improvements. The constant rain has been a challenge, but crews continue to make progress despite the wet conditions. Work on the pond is expected to be completed during the week of June 17th.

Changes to Red Fox Road are scheduled to begin June 17th, weather permitting.

The Lexington Ave right lane will continue to be closed through the end of the month while crews install utilities under what will be the future right turn lane. These barricades will be removed if the contractor is unable to work for several days. Please expect delays and we thank you for your patience.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact Mike Shaughnessy at 651-490-4656 or at mshaughnessy@shoreviewmn.gov.

Owasso/Victoria and Co Rd E

Crews are currently grading the south side of County Road E for what will be a future trail and right turn lane to Victoria Street. Xcel Energy will be placing power lines and poles and are expected to be complete by the end of June.

There will be minor delays along County Road E and Victoria for the movement of heavy equipment but will be kept to a minimum and with all efforts to avoid the busy AM and PM rush hour traffic.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact Shoreview Public Works at 651-490-4650 or at publicworks@shoreviewmn.gov.

2013 Seal Coat

Seal coating is a part of the pavement management program and helps to give new strength and longevity to the road surface. This process is quick and generally does not shut down or disrupt traffic. Below is a map of the affected areas. Residents of the affected streets will be notified prior to seal coating. Work typically takes place during the month of July.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact Tom Hammitt at 651-490-4654 or at thammitt@shoreviewmn.gov.

2013 Road Reconstruction

During the reconstruction, the old roadway will be ground into the current sub-grade to create a stronger and longer lasting base. A 2-3 inch layer of asphalt roadway will be laid on top of that base. There may be minor improvement or connections to city utilities during this time but residents will continue have drive in access to their home throughout the project with only minor traffic disruptions.

Work during the summer of 2013 is expected to begin around mid July.
