Property and Housing Maintenance Assistance
This page is designed to introduce resources available to area residents who may need additional assistance to maintain their home or property. These resources include volunteer organizations, non-profit agencies, and programs that provide assistance to senior citizens, people with disabilities and residents who may need assistance.
Metro Paint-A-Thon
The Metro Paint-a-Thon helps seniors and people with physical disabilities continue to live independently in their homes. They use volunteer teams to scrape, prime and paint home exteriors for low-income clients, at no cost to the homeowner. If your home in need of paint, let Paint-a-Thon help you! You must be the owner and occupant of a single family home. Your home/garage must be in either Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott or Washington Counties. You must be over age 60 or permanently physically disabled (if under 60). Your monthly income must not exceed $1,800 for one person or $2,500 for two person homes. The Care Crew
The Care Crew is a volunteer service organization designed to help fulfill the needs of the elderly, physically or financially challenged, and single parent families in the Northern Suburbs of the Twin Cities area. Residents in and near Mounds View / New Brighton can call the Care Crew for assistance with home repairs, yard work, rides or personal assistance. The River Crew
The River Crew is a volunteer ministry of the River of Life Church for the purpose of assisting elderly, handicapped, disabled and unable, single-parent families or financially challenged households in Shoreview, Vadnais Heights and Arden Hills. Northwest Youth and Family Services (Senior Chore Services)
Northwest Youth & Family Services (NYFS) is a non-profit social service agency that offers affordable help for seniors. Through their Senior Chore Program, youth are matched with local senior citizens in need of basic chore services such as house cleaning, snow shoveling and yard work. The youth gains valuable work experience while the senior citizen is allowed to live independently in their own home. Depending on income services are offered on a low-cost, subsidized or free basis. Rondo Community Land Trust
Rondo Community Land Trust is a non-profit, community-based organization operating in suburban Ramsey County that creates and preserves homeownership for low and moderate income households. It provides quality, permanently affordable housing today and in the future for low and moderate-income, multi-generational households by exploring various development methods, remaining flexible in its revitalization approaches and working within priorities set by the community. Rondo CLT innovatively meets housing needs while preserving the economic and cultural diversity of the community Rondo provides access to home ownership for those who cannot afford homes that are for sale on the real estate market and prevents existing homeowners from entering into foreclosure by becoming part of the Rondo CLT land trust.

Twin Cities Habitat
Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity preserves homeownership by helping low-income homeowners repair and maintain their homes through their A Brush with Kindness program and by assisting families living in the City of Minneapolis who are facing foreclosure or who have fallen behind in their mortgage payments through their Mortgage Foreclosure Prevention program.

Holy Hammers
The Holy Hammers is an ecumenical coalition of churches partnering with the Twin Cities affiliate of Habitat for Humanities to help bring affordable housing to our community. Currently 4 churches from Shoreview are part of the Holy Hammers: Incarnation Lutheran Church, Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, Presbyterian Church of the Way, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.

Dispute Resolution Center
The Dispute Resolution Center is a private, nonprofit community mediation program founded in 1982 to provide mediation, facilitation, training and referral services. The Center's services provide an effective, convenient, affordable opportunity to find positive, satisfactory solutions to many types of community and family problems such as; matters of public safety concerning traffic or parking; rental arrangements; consumer-merchant disputes; neighborhood conflicts about noise, pets or property lines; small claims concerning money, property damage, or breach of contract; and post-divorce visitation concerns about co-parenting and communication between parents and children.
