Overnight Parking
The City of Shoreview prohibits parking on city streets between the hours of 2 a.m. and 5 a.m.
Flexibility in the event of exceptional or unusual circumstances is allowed. Exceptions include building construction, out-of-town guests, driveway construction, and large family gatherings
Temporary 2-3 Day Overnight Parking Permit Request
Temporary overnight parking permits are available at the link below. Please Note that the City's No Overnight Parking ordinance is in effect for 2 am to 5 am the morning of a requested day. Please keep this in mind when choosing your requested dates. Permit requests must be submitted before 4:00 p.m. the day before the permit takes effect. Weekend permit requests must be submitted by 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
This permit does not allow parking in posted No Parking zones. Please see Special Event Parking Requests below for parking in posted No Parking Zones.
Permits that are approved are good for up to 7 days. For longer requests, please contact Public Works at 651-490-4650.

Block Party Permit
The City does allow neighborhoods to use the street for neighborhood block parties. We do require a permit and barricades for use of the street. Please fill out the application below and City Staff will review your request and contact you within 48 hours. Please call 651.490.4650 with any questions.

Special Event Parking
The City can allow parking on streets posted "No Parking" for special events such as graduation parties, garage sales, etc. A permit for these purposes is available from the Public Works Department at City Hall. Please call 651.490.4650 with any questions.

Snow Emergency
When a snow emergency has been declared, the city prohibits on-street parking any time two or more inches of snow have accumulated, until after the street has been completely plowed, as stated in Municipal Code 901.080(D)(8). The two-inch guideline applies to any hour of the day, any time of the year.
The parking ordinance does not apply to private streets, only to public roadways plowed by city crews. Residents who violate the ordinance will be ticketed by Ramsey County Sheriff.
