Recycling
The City of Shoreview is committed to reducing, reusing and recycling products in our community. Shoreview's curbside recycling program is funded by a combination of users fees, county and state grant monies.

Recycling Schedule
The City is divided into five zones, each representing a day of the week, for garbage and recycling collection. Public holidays often change the pickup day temporarily, so please
check the pickup schedule around public holidays.→
Recyclables should be placed loose in your blue and gray cart. If you bag your recycling please use paper, not plastic bags.

How can I get rid of this?
The City offers Cleanup Events every spring and fall where residents can bring charitable donations, electronics and garbage/refuse not accepted by their hauler. The amount you will be charged is approximately two-thirds of the cost of disposal; the City pays one-third of the actual cost. See past Cleanup Day flyer for an idea of items accepted and costs. If you need to recycle something now, please check the charts below for where to recycle popular items before the next City Cleanup Day.

*Yard Waste Disposal
Ramsey County operates a public compost site for the disposal of leaves, grass clippings, brush and other compost materials. No stumps, please. No charge for disposal of these materials, but residents must show proof of Ramsey County residency. Wood chips are available at some sites, check the specific site for details.
**Used Oil Disposal
Used motor oil is toxic and poses a threat to humans, animals, surface water, ground water and even air, if disposed of improperly. Used oil from one oil change can contaminate one million gallons of fresh water if it is dumped on to the ground! It is illegal to put motor oil or filters in the trash.
***Electronics Disposal
Electronic products containing a cathode ray tube (CRT), such as TVs and computer monitors, may not be placed in the garbage. Electronic products contain lead and other heavy metals which are harmful to human health and the environment.
Lead from CRTs is the largest single source of lead in Minnesota's municipal waste. Approximately 20% of each CRT is made up of lead; this is between 5-8 pounds of lead per unit. The ban will keep toxic lead and other recyclable components of electronics out of landfills.
