Overnight Parking Regulations

Post Date:11/07/2017

With winter approaching, the City wanted to remind residents that parking on city streets between the hours of 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. and after any snow fall of two or more inches is prohibited year-round. However, the City does provide free permits for on street parking in the event of exceptional or unusual circumstances. Exceptions include building construction, out-of-town guests, driveway construction, and large family gatherings. Click here to fill out an online permit request.

Permits can be requested for up to 7 days. All requested vehicles must be licensed and all trailers must be connected to a licensed vehicle. Dumpsters, PODs, and building materials are prohibited from being placed on the street. This permit system does not permit contractor vehicles or trailers.

Please note that the City's No Overnight Parking ordinance is in effect from 2 a.m. to 5 a.m. the morning of a requested day. Please keep this in mind when choosing your requested dates.

All request forms must be complete. Permit requests must be submitted by 4:00 p.m. and submitting a request does not guarantee approval. You may need to submit your request during business hours the day before to have it approved the day the permit takes effect. Weekend permit requests must be submitted by 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

NOTE: Even if a permit request is approved, any snow fall of two inches or greater requires that ALL vehicles must be removed from the road for plowing operations.
