After Council Report: Feb. 4
The Shoreview City Council met on Monday, February 4. Below are some of the highlights from the meeting. Please note that the February 19 meeting has been canceled. The next regular City Council meeting will take place on Monday, March 4.

Poster Contest Winners
The City Council recognized the 20 winners from the Human Rights Commission's annual poster contest. This is the 26th, "Once Community of Many Colors" 4th grade poster contest. The contest honors Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The Commission received 240 posters from Emmet D. Williams, Island Lake, Oak Hill Montessori, St. Odilia, and Turtle Lake schools. The posters are on display at the Community Center through February 28th.
The City Council approved several items related to street projects.
Wabasso Neighborhood Reconstruction - Last fall, the City Council directed staff to prepare a feasibility report for this project which includes Cottage Pl, Janice St, and Centre St. The improvements include: new pavement, concrete curb and gutter, sanitary sewer and water system improvements, street light replacement, and a trail off of Cottage Pl. The Council received the report and scheduled a public hearing for March 4, 2019 at 7 p.m.
St. Albans Ct Water Main Extension - Last fall, the City Council directed staff to prepare a feasibility report for this project. This project includes the installation of a water main from Bucher Ave to St. Albans Ct, water services to eight properties, new pavement, and curb and gutter. The Council received the report and scheduled a public hearing for March 4, 2019 at 7 p.m.
2019 Street Rehabilitation Project - The City Council approved plans and specs for the 2019 Street Rehabilitation Project, which includes several streets. The City will be accepting bids on March 12, 2019.
Schutta Rd Sanitary Sewer Improvements - The City Council approved plans and specs for the Schutta Rd Sanitary Sewer Improvements project. This project includes relocating the sanitary sewer line. The City will be accepting bids on March 7, 2019.
North Owasso Blvd Reconstruction - The City Council held a public hearing, directed staff to prepare plans and specs, and ordered the improvements for the North Owasso Blvd project. This project includes the reconstruction of North Owasso Blvd between Soo Street and West Owasso Blvd and Arbogast St between West Owasso Blvd and Victoria St. The project will begin in late summer 2019 and be completed in late 2020.
Public Safety Committee Appointments
The City Council appointed two new members to the Public Safety Committee through January 31, 2022.
