Road Construction Projects
Update 9/3: Resurfacing work is now completed. Rice Street has reopened.
Update 8/7: Ramsey County will close Rice Street in the two areas below to while work to raise the road surface is completed.
- Week of August 19: Rice Street from Gramsie Road south to the railroad bridge.
- Week of August 26: Hodgson Road from Gramsie Road north to Highway 96. Traffic will be detoured onto Rice Street and Highway 96.
Update 6/25: Rice Street is now open in both directions. Ramsey County will begin work to raise the road surface in late July. Learn more at ramseycounty.us/
Update September 13: 694 will be closed September 20 at 10 pm until September 23 at 5 am for bridge work. Owasso Boulevard will reopen Thursday, September 19.
Ramsey County is reconstructing the interchange at I-694 and Rice Street adjacent to the communities of Shoreview, Little Canada and Vadnais Heights. All traffic from North Owasso Boulevard to Vadnais Boulevard is on the east half of the road with one lane open in each direction. The stop light at Vadnais Lake Boulevard and Rice Street is an all-way stop. The west half of the road is closed for construction.

35W North MNPass
Update September 13: Construction on the County Road I ramp will be complete in the next week. The ramp will reopen on September 19.
Update June 13: The County Road I exit from Southbound I-35W is now closed for construction. The exit will reopen in late fall 2019.
Update May 28: Beginning 8 pm Tuesday, May 28, SB I-35W will be reduced to three lanes between the northern Highway 10 interchange and Mounds View Boulevard until November 2019. Beginning June 7 the ramp from southbound I-35W to County Road I will be closed.
MnDOT’s I-35W North MnPASS project between Roseville and Lino Lakes began in early April. Drivers should prepare for lane and ramp closures during the three-year project, which will repair aging infrastructure and improve mobility on the freeway
Public Works will complete a number of rehabilitation and reconstruction projects this year.
