The City of Shoreview Communications Department keeps the community informed using a variety of communications methods and tools. Its efforts are designed to provide residents, businesses, community-based organizations and customers with timely and meaningful ongoing information about City programs, services, operations, news and events. The primary services provided in this area include:
- Print communications and publications
- Relations with the media and community
- Cable television programs and bulletins
- Website and social media
- Electronic signs and digital billboards
The Communications Department annually publishes six regular issues of ShoreViews, the City Newsletter and Recreation Catalog. It also publishes Access Shoreview, the City's bi-monthly e-newsletter that summarizes Council actions and up-to-date news. Residents can sign-up to receive Access Shoreview.
Communications works with other City departments and community organizations to distribute information about news and events to local newspapers and other media.
The department also manages the City’s cable television operations, which includes televising and web-streaming all regular City Council and Planning Commission meetings, as well as coordinating programming produced for the City on Shoreview Channel 16.
Communications staff is also responsible for the City of Shoreview Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages, which provide updates on news, events, alerts and much more.
