The Planning Division guides Shoreview’s future land use direction through long-range plans and zoning controls. Primary tools in oversight of planning and zoning are the the City's Development Code and Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan provides policy direction for the planning program on land use and development in the City, and concurrence with the regional policies of the Metropolitan Council. The Development Code establishes regulations for how land can be developed.The division reviews and prepares recommendations on applications for development, rezoning, use permits, and variances, working closely with the Planning Commission, the advisory body to the City Council on issues pertaining to land use and planning development regulations.
Meetings are held at 7pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall - 4600 Victoria Street N. The next scheduled meeting is: December 19, 2017.
