2017 EQC Report to Shoreview City Council

Current Projects and Upcoming Events

Environmental Speaker Series

The Environmental Quality Committee hosts an annual Environmental Speaker Series each winter.  The 2019 Series begins in February and presentation details for the 2019 series are available online.  Each speaker allows time for questions and answers. More information on the 2019 Series will be published in the January/February ShoreViews.

Green Community Awards

The Environmental Quality Committee also hosts the Green Community Awards annually. The Green Community Awards began in 2007 as a program to find, recognize and reward residential, non-profit, and commercial property owners that demonstrate Best Management Practices (BMPs) for water quality. In 2013, the Committee expanded the award program to recognize individual and corporate efforts in three general areas: Water, Energy, and General Initiatives.

The 2019 Green Community Awards Application period is now open and the city is accepting applications. The application deadline for 2019 awards is July 5, 2019. Selected applicants will be contacted by EQC members in August 2019 to discuss their application. Winners will be recognized by the Shoreview Mayor, City Council, and Environmental Quality Committee during a City Council meeting in September 2019. Applications for the 2019 season are available below. For more details, or to nominate yourself or a neighbor, please refer to the application form:
