The Environmental Quality Committee annually hosts a winter speaker series on environmental topics. Four speakers are featured each year, with presentations occurring between the months of January and May.  The 2019 Series will run from February to May with presentations occurring in the City Council Chambers at 7 p.m. the third Wednesday of each month.

When selecting speakers, the Committee seeks experts in their fields to give a presentation on topical issues, with time for discussion.

The EQC has now finalized speakers for the 2019 Series.

2019 Series speakers will focus on the following topics:

  • Improving Water Quality & Conserving Water at Home - February 20th
  • Should we Care About Carp in the Owasso Chain of Lakes? - March 20
  • Managing Soil Fertility in Urban Gardens - April 17th
  • Contamination Issues in Shoreview's recycling - May 15th
