Shoreview plows approximately 110 miles of city roadway and 151 cul-de-sacs using various types of equipment. Plowing or salting operations begin when road conditions make driving difficult and are also dependent upon time of day, current snow depth, and forecast.
Arterial and collector streets are plowed on a priority basis followed by residential streets. Cul-de-sacs are plowed curb-to-curb using front end loaders or smaller plow trucks after residential streets are cleared.
Parking on city streets is prohibited following a snowfall of 2" or greater until the roadway has been cleared curb-to-curb. In addition, parking on city streets is prohibited from 2:00 a.m. - 5:00 a.m. year round.
Please place all recycling or garbage bins 5' into the driveway to lessen the possibility of damage or tipping during snowplowing operations.
Plowing of sidewalks or paths near schools are given plowing priority after the roadways are clear.
