Taxes on individual properties are assessed based on that property’s value. Changes in market conditions can affect changes in value. Questions about your property value? Call 651-266-2131or visit ramseycounty.us/property.

Property tax appeals

Property owners can appeal their current market value or property classification through the Minnesota Tax Court on or before April 30 of each year. The tax court has two divisions that review appeals.

  • Small claims division
    • Filing fee $150
    • Law library fee $10
    • Decisions are final and cannot be appealed
  • Regular division
    • Filing fee $310
    • Law library fee $10
    • Decisions can be appealed

Property owners will receive a valuation notice in the mail in March that includes details about the appeals process and timeline for appealing future property values.  You can appeal or question future property value or classification after receiving it.
