Citizen of the year award

Now accepting applications through noon on September 12.

The citizen of the year award recognizes a citizen who exemplifies the spirit of giving back to the community. The council's goals for this award are:

  • Recognize the volunteer efforts of deserving citizens
  • Inspire others to continue the tradition of Shoreview citizens volunteering

The city council will recognize the winner in the fall. They will also have their name added to a plaque and have an article written about them.

Who can win?

Individuals who:

  • Possess and demonstrate a generous community spirit
  • Are a role model in the community and raise the standards of social responsibility  

Items that are considered as part of the nomination:

  • City affiliations and organizations
  • Affiliations with nonprofit organizations or volunteer groups that benefit the community
  • Individual contributions that benefit the community
