Environmental quality committee

This committee works with the city council on environmental issues. It advocates for the environment, water quality, and waste disposal.

Green Community awards

Apply now for a Green Community Award! Residents and businesses are recognized each year for taking on environmentally friendly projects on their properties. Award applicants will be contacted in August. Winners are recognized by the mayor at a city council meeting. To nominate yourself or a neighbor, please refer to the application form below.

The Green Community Awards began in 2007. It is a way for Shoreview citizens, businesses, and other organizations to be recognized for their work in the environment. The committee has three award categories: water, energy, and general.

Environmental speaker series

The committee hosts an annual series with speakers on environmental topics of interest to residents. Join for one or more sessions to learn about a variety of topics. More information will be posted later this year about the 2027 series. 

Speakers will be held in the council chambers at city hall.
