Name that plow submission form

The city has a new plow and we want you to name it! Residents of all ages are invited to submit their funniest, punniest, and most creative names for our second annual snowplow naming contest. From “Snowbegone Kenobi” to “Blizzard Wizard,” we’re looking for clever, funny names to bring out the personality in our snow-slingers. 

What's in it for you?

  • Take a photo with the plow and crew
  • Tour the maintenance center and water treatment plant

Guidelines

  • Winning participant(s) must be a Shoreview resident(s)
  • Names must be 20 characters or less. 
  • Names that include profanity or other inappropriate language will not be considered. 
  • Politically inspired names (including phrases, slogans or plays on politicians' names) will not be considered. 
  • Names cannot be an individual’s name.
  • The name submitted should be a name that is created by the submitter, and not otherwise owned or trademarked by another entity, such as a movie, TV, or person’s name, or reference to an existing company.
  • If multiple people submit the same name, the person who submits the name first will be credited. 
  • Shoreview employees and family members are excluded from participating in the contest.
  • By submitting a name, you grant the City of Shoreview all rights to use/display/publish your submission to the snowplow naming contest for promotional purposes.
  • Name(s) of the winning participant(s) will be shared through the website, social media, and e-newsletters.
  • If your snowplow name is selected as the winner, you will be notified by phone or email.
  • City staff reserves the right to make adjustments to name submissions.
  • Submissions must include contact information. Personal contact information will only be accessible to City of Shoreview employees to contact the winners and will not be sold or provided externally.

Contest timeline

  • September 29 - October 21: submit your entry
  • October 22 - 24: public works staff will narrow it down to their top three favorites
  • October 28 - November 7: top three favorites are announced and voting takes place to choose the best name
  • By November 14: the winner will be notified
