Tree limbs cover the sidewalk after a storm

A line of severe thunderstorms moved across Minnesota early Wednesday morning on June 10 leading to significant power loss, down trees, and debris throughout the area. City crews are actively working to assess and respond to local damage.

Xcel Energy

  • Over 30,000 are without power in Ramsey County.
  • Outages impacting the greatest number of customers are being prioritized.
  • 275 crews are currently out with another 100+ on the way today.

Reminders for residents:

  • Report outages using the Xcel Energy mobile app, texting "OUT" to 98936 or calling 1-800-895-1999.
  • Stay away from downed or sagging power lines and never touch them.

Public works

  • Crews came in early to view damage and remove downed trees blocking streets and all Shoreview roadways are clear
  • Public works crews are cleaning and removing debris. Clean up may take a few days.
  • We are monitoring another storm this afternoon.

Parks and Recreation

  • Several trees have fallen or have been damaged in our park and open spaces.
  • Crews are assessing damage to Sitzer, Lake Judy, and Wilson parks.
