2026 Reclamite Treatment for Streets

  • Project scheduleSpring - Summer
The city is partnering with Ramsey County Public Works for reclamite treatment on city streets and the Bobby Theisen Park parking lot.  Reclamite is a light surface treatment that helps seal small cracks and slow down aging. The reclamite is sprayed on the pavement and is covered with sand, which is swept up once dry. The process takes only a few hours, but treatment can extend the life of the road by 5 to 7 years before bigger repairs are needed.

No assessments will be part of this project.

The county provides design and bidding services to the city at no cost.  Shoreview is responsible for the costs incurred with the contractor's work, inspection and construction administration, which are funded through the city's street renewal fund.

The county has a Frequently Asked Questions page for more information about the construction process.

Schedule:

The schedule is weather-dependent and more details will be available after a contractor is selected this spring.

  • Bidding - Early Spring
  • Construction - Summer
