Statement on immigration activities

While it has been several months since Shoreview experienced an increased level of ICE activity, we continue to hear from residents that the ripple effects of that period of uncertainty and fear are still being felt throughout our community. We know many of you remain worried about your loved ones, your neighbors, yourselves, and our community. Unfortunately, the lack of transparency and information from the federal government—who is not coordinating with the city or law enforcement agencies—continues to fuel that uncertainty. It also remains unclear whether Operation Metro Surge has actually been scaled back or concluded, leaving many residents without the information they need to feel safe and informed.

Shoreview remains committed to being a community where everyone feels safe and welcomed, regardless of immigration status. If you feel unsafe in any situation or have public safety concerns, call 911. 

Your city council and city leadership will continue to work on your behalf towards our vision of being a welcoming, safe community for all.
