2026 Pond Maintenance Project

The city is partnering with the Ramsey Washington Metro Watershed District for maintenance work at four ponding areas in Shoreview.  The ponds have kept sediment out of lakes and streams for decades, letting it settle to the bottom of the pond rather than washing downstream.  This project will remove that built-up sediment, restoring the rain storage and water treatment capacity of these ponds, so they can continue to project our natural waterways for years to come.

 

Please note, the pond near Harbor Place was originally identified for maintenance this year, but has been removed from the project due to increased costs.

No assessments will be part of this project.

The watershed district provides engineering design and on-site construction management at no cost to the city.  Shoreview is responsible for the costs incurred with the contractor's work, funded through the city's surface water management fund.

Schedule:

  • Project bidding in December. Schedule to be submitted once a contractor is selected.
