Lower Level Parking Lot Improvements

From August 17 through mid-September, construction will include:

  • Grinding up the old pavement and installing new asphalt in the oldest portion of the lower level parking lot.
  • Installing a new sanitary sewer pipe from the manhole near the Hoffman Pavilion to the new lift station location at the southeast corner of the parking lot.
  • Constructing a retaining wall along the east side of the lot to create additional parking spaces.
  • Replacing damaged curb and upgrading ADA-accessible ramps.

Parking and Access Impacts

During construction, parking will be limited to small portion of the lower level parking lot. Visitors are encouraged to use the upper level parking lot and follow posted signs.

The Shoreview Farmers’ Market will continue to operate in the lower level parking lot during construction. The market may be on a gravel surface for several weeks.

Portions of the sidewalk around the lower level parking lot will be temporarily closed. There will also be short-term closures or access changes near the Community Center’s upper-level entrance. Please follow posted signage and use caution around construction areas.

Additional Work Coming in Early Fall

Additional improvements with fewer anticipated impacts to community center visitors will start in early fall:

  • Expansion and paving of the City Hall service driveway and parking area.
  • Minor storm utility improvements.
  • Curb replacement and ADA accessibility upgrades in the upper level parking lot.
  • Trail rehabilitation.
  • Construction of a new trail connection between the Common Park trails and the Mounds Avenue playground.
